Three rare marathon screenings of the legendary documentary by Patricio Guzmán, The Battle of Chile, will take place for September 11, the anniversary of the Chilean military coup. A landmark in documentary history, this remarkable film brings viewers into the Chilean political conflict. The film includes one of cinema's most famous shots: a cameraman who captures his own murder on film. Often discussed but little-seen, The Battle of Chile (1975-1979, Chile/France/Cuba, 262 minutes) has been newly restored and released on DVD by Icarus Films. In this remarkable event, it will shown in complete marathon screenings.
Director Patricio Guzmán is available for interviews in support of this program.
Screener DVDs and publicity photos are also available for writers covering this event.
